I saw this recipe on The Paleo Way with Natasha McBride and thought it looked delicious. I’ve been really working to eliminate sugar from my diet and this recipe spoke to my sweet tooth in just the right way. I made it for my husband and daughters to complete a salmon dinner. It was a hit! We warmed up the leftovers the next morning with coffee-Yum!! I experimented with amounts and cooking time because it wasn’t given in the show. I just poured in the oil and probably overdid it initially- I’m sure with butter it would be incredible, but dairy has been tricky in our family.
In my mind most meals should support a fatty acid deficiency by implementing quality fats and eliminating those that are toxic. The nuts and oil/butter in this recipe provide nutritious fats- the walnuts some nice omega 3s and the coconut oil the health benefits of medium chain triglycerides. I loved this recipe!
